I bought this Triumph on eBay several years ago. When I bought it it was not running.

Phase one: The engine would not turn over. Locked up. I pulled the head and checked for cylinder damage. At this point I was able to (by hand) free the engine. I did not pull the cylinders but checked for damage with engine still in the frame. No damage to cylinders. I preformed a simple leak check on the head. All looked good. Reassembled. Installed electronic ignition. Checked oil pump cleaned screens new oil. Rebuilt carburetors. Carburetors still need tweaking. New battery. Time to kick it over. Started on third or fourth try. Oil was pumping – took a short test drive. Shifted well, clutch good. Five speed with left side shift. Small oil leak – probably needs new o-rings and proper squish adjustment.

Phase two: new tires, new chain, rebuilt front disk brake. Rear disk brake requires additional work including finding and installing an actuator. Cosmetically needs help – the gas tank paint is new but needs touch up at petcocks. Side cover are metal but are not attached properly. Seat is good. Wheels have some corrosion. Exhaust pipes and mufflers are not original. They are functional but rough.

I’ve driven this Triumph 10 or 15 miles total since I first started it. Too many other projects. If it doesn’t sell I’ll continue working on it. This is not a purchase for everyone. It needs a good mechanic and a bunch of work depending on where you want to get with it. Not far away from an everyday runner but far from a true restoration. Tachometer and speedometer work but need work on mounting.

Phase three: not started –
